What are the sporting events to see in Paris this summer?

Many sporting events are scheduled in Paris this summer: the French football cup final, the boxing match between Tony Yoka and Martin Bakole, the "Run My City Paris 2022" race, the Roland Garros tennis tournaments and many more! 
 

French Football Cup Final at the Stade de France

On Saturday 7 May 2022 at 9pm, the Final of the 105th edition of the French Football Cup will be held. This match will see FC Nantes and OGC Nice face each other. The French Football Cup is a competition that is open to both professional and amateur clubs of the French Football Federation.

The last victory in this competition dates back to 2000 for Nantes and 1997 for Nice. Paris-Saint-Germain is the club with the best record in the French Cup with 14 trophies won, ahead of Olympique de Marseille. The final of this competition has been held since 1998 at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
 

Tony Yoka vs Martin Bakole

French boxer Tony Yoka will face Congolese Martin Bakole on Saturday 14 May 2022 at the Accor Arena in Paris Bercy in the main event of a big night organised by All Star Boxing and broadcast on Canal +. Martin Bakole is a 28-year-old Congolese boxer. He has only lost once in 18 appearances in the ring - 13 wins by KO. Tony Yoka is a 29-year-old French boxer who was crowned Olympic champion in 2016. This will be his twelfth fight as a professional. During this event, it will also be possible to attend another fight between two Frenchmen: Sofiane Oumiha and Mevy Boufoudi.

Run My City Paris 2022

For sports enthusiasts who want to discover Paris in an original way, the Run My City Paris run is a good compromise between sport and culture. The 2022 edition of the race will take place on Sunday 15 May.

In order to allow as many runners as possible to take part, two courses are proposed: a 9 km or a 15 km - both races are untimed. The races start over several hours on Sunday morning, with no mass start. You can run the course solo, in pairs or even in fours for a friendly race.

The objective of the race is to make you discover the monuments and mythical places of the Parisian hyper centre, the whole punctuated by several animations. Here are the places crossed during the 2022 edition of Run My City:

French Open Tennis Tournament at Roland Garros

The French Open tennis tournament will be held from 22 May to 5 June 2022 for the main draw and from 16 May 2022 for the qualifying rounds. This year again, the battle promises to be fierce. The world's greatest tennis players will battle it out for a fortnight on one of the 24 courts at Roland Garros, including the Philippe Chatrier Centre Court and the Suzanne Lenglen Court. The Roland Garros stadium has been hosting world tennis tournaments on clay since 1927.
 

Longines Global Champions Tour

The Longines Global Champions Tour - Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping (LGCT-LPEJ) will take place from 24 to 26 June 2022 on the Champ de Mars. This international show jumping competition features the world's top 30 riders from the Longines World Ranking, competing on the world's largest showgrounds. The new edition in Paris takes place on the Champ de Mars at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. This popular strolling area for Parisians used to host superb horse races during the Belle Époque.

TOP 14 rugby final at the Stade de France

On Saturday 25 June 2022, come and watch the Top 14 rugby final. The final of the French rugby championship has been held in Saint-Denis on the Stade de France since 1998. 14 clubs can claim to be French champions and lift the Brennus at the Stade de France.

Paris-Versailles 2022 race

The Paris-Versailles race, also known as the Grande Classique, will take place on 25 September 2022 for its 43rd edition. This 16.2 km race takes place every year in the streets of the capital and welcomes more than 25,000 runners on the last Sunday of September.

The race starts at the foot of the Eiffel Tower and finishes in front of the Château de Versailles, after about an hour's running, depending on the level of each runner. Several bands are present on the route to motivate the runners and ensure a good atmosphere and refreshment points are offered along the race.
