What is Belgian Beer Weekend?

Belgian beer, which is recognised as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, has many enthusiasts around the world. The Belgian Beer Weekend was created in 1998 to celebrate and promote this rich and unique heritage.

This 23rd edition features a selection of over 400 Belgian beers from 46 of the world's best breweries. The flavours are amazing, and the Grand-Place in Brussels makes this event unique and special. Admission is free, but there is a charge for tastings.

What is the Belgian Beer Weekend programme?

The Grand-Place in Brussels will become a place to learn about Belgian brewers for a whole weekend.

  • Friday 1 September:

The festivities start at 6pm. The tills close at 9.30pm and the stands at 10.30pm.

  • Saturday 2 September:

The festival opens at noon. The brewers' parade starts at 1pm. The tills close at 9.30pm and the stands at 10.30pm.

  • Sunday 3 September:

The fair opens at noon. The parade of brewers' brotherhoods starts at 12.15pm. The tills close at 7pm and the stands at 8pm.
