What is Belgian Beer Weekend?

 

Belgian beer, which is recognised as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, has many enthusiasts around the world. The Belgian Beer Weekend was created in 1998 to celebrate and promote this rich and unique heritage.

This 23rd edition features a selection of over 500 Belgian beers from 50 of the world's best breweries. The flavours are amazing, and the Grand-Place in Brussels makes this event unique and special. Admission is free, but there is a charge for tastings.

You can easily get there from stop 1 - Gare Centrale of the red line with a hop-on hop-off bus tour ticket. 

 

What is the Belgian Beer Weekend programme?

 

  • Friday 6 September:

The festivities begin at 6 p.m. The ticket booths close and service stops at 10:15 p.m., with the site closing at 10:30 p.m.

  • Saturday 7 September:

The opening is at noon, and the brewers' parade starts at 1 p.m. The ticket booths close and service stops at 10:15 p.m., with the site closing at 10:30 p.m.

  • Sunday 8 September:

The opening is at noon, and the brewers' guild parade starts at 12:15 p.m. The ticket booths close and service stops at 7:45 p.m., with the site closing at 8 p.m.

 

On the same weekend, you can also enjoy the BD Comics Strip Festival, the comic book festival at Brussels Maritime Station.
